I think you made a great read, mo, because when I look at this kid's face, I see someone who isn't even close to a man yet. That's still a boy, emotionally. But the murder feels super dark; it definitely "feels" like it runs a hell of a lot deeper than this kid's "ideology", etc. There is someone or someones much older, more sophisticated, controlling, smug, greedy, shitty, fucked in the next world...
I think if this kid avoids the death sentence, he'll eventually repent deeply.
It sickens me to think of the one who was really calling the shots just chuckling over his cognac. Choke on it, bitch.
I feel the same way about prisons at large. They're privately owned, and the owners make a shit-ton of money while people all over this country are trapped. I'm not saying there aren't bad people in there, but the idea of the prison owner on a yacht having his way with the wives and gf's of the inmates is truly fucking hideous... which has happened... and worse... young men have been thrown in prison just to be raped. Judges have been caught doing stuff like this. One of them serially. It's like nurses who occasionally kill patients because it gives them a rush. You had that Italian nurse who would take selfies with her patients before killing them. This world, man. It's dark. We have to lead with love when we can.
