If he was talking to her when he was 15 and she was 10? Yeah that's fucked up.
Talking to her when he was 19 and she was 14? Yeah that's not great.
But 5 years? That's only a big age difference when you ARE young.
37 and 32? Nothing. 42 and 37? Nothing. It's a tiny, negligible difference when you get past age 25.
Romeo and Juliet laws cut off at 4 years basically.
I'm not trying to excuse his behavior with this girl, not at all.
But if we take the potential murder out of the equation (yikes)...
I think the way he's being demonized and painted as some kinda sick freak is ever so slightly over the top.
If he was 30, then yeah, he'd be a total freakass weirdo for this. But he's 20 years old. 6 months ago, he was 19.
