There is a massive amount of military land in Florida. Probably second only to places like Nevada when it comes to secret ops. When you start driving into south Florida and there's NOTHING around for a long way, that's all military. Training camps in Florida would be about the least surprising thing in the world.
But it's also important to note that if it's widely known about, then it's also probably less and less active from the point in time it became compromised. They have compounds like that all over the country, I would assume.
Now going back to Bundy... we all know there are a lot of whacked out cult activities taking place in Utah, around the Salt Lake City area. I am reminded of Teal Swan and her stories about experiences with the ritualistic abuse in Mormon cults around the region. It's not unthinkable that Ted may have been involved with some of these cults, but I really feel like rather than being born into it, or recruited into it, he probably stumbled upon it. Law of attraction type deal... he was evil, and he stumbled into situations that were equally evil. It is possible that he traveled to Florida to check out the other 'hot' ritual location. Who knows, really. Nothing would surprise me, but regardless, I maintain HE found THEM.
