Cuz a lot of that stuff he heard from people who had actually seen it in person, all those years ago...
And decades later it's only just now being slowly trickled out and admitted to be happening.
I'll take that as a lesson to listen to people... at least taking their info down in a book of memory, even if it's not something I personally believe.

Another thing the fat kid told me is that the military can listen through your windows with lasers from space. About ten years later, Arizona had a crazy governor who ended up being recalled. Look up Gov. Evan Mecham.
Anyway, Ev was not really crazy.. he just was really old school and he said some questionable shit.
But one thing he was saying is that he was being listened in on by lasers. The local press made fun of him for that and acted like he was crazy, but I believed him!
