It's merely the truth. Yes, of course audiobooks are handy, they're good to have, they're better than nothing...

But I think the propensity toward collecting audio (intangible) "books" rather than actually physical copies is indeed a conspiracy with a plethora of aims...

Not the least of which is to make people less linguistically and communicatively competent by not sharpening the tool of the written word. 

Also, it's useful to get people hooked on audiobooks because there are no books to burn and information is much more easily censored. With the flip of a switch or a line of code or an unfortunate shock, audiobooks are gone forever.
