4k is for PCs and gaming. the extra desktop room is awesome for productivity.
tv and movie tech is incrementing unevenly.
things like HDR make an enormous difference in person. color is artwork, just grabbin a 4k camera and expecting magic isn't gonna work. old film cameras were a veteran tech with people who knew how to use them. the new stuff is still new and unmastered.
it's also jarring going from old movies / tv to new stuff. old stuff was shot at 24 frames per second. new stuff is 60/120.
rather pointless imo to keep incrementing 2d flat displays, aside from more PC desktop space. 3D 360° holographic displays are the future. 2d stuff will be for overlays in wearable glasses/contacts.
