I get the impression that the appearance is part of the fun of possessing Earth.

I get the impression that it could be anything.
It seems like...
It can be anything, but there's also a certain way that the form could come in that is sort of like a hardwired way to come in... and that's the method that would essentially hack the matrix and it would be clear to everybody that some 'supernatural' shit was going on here.
The lowkey way is to play it like a game and come in as all the stuff that already exists.
