Yeah people in general have no idea about the subconscious impact of advertising. My mom actually caught me as a kid, wanting a certain candy that was advertised on tv. It was probably not more than 10 minutes after seeing the ad after which I told her I felt like *insert candy* and she realized what had happened and started laughing. Took me a couple seconds then I realized it too.
It may seem silly, but if that had not happened I probably would have no idea that advertising actually works like that. You need to experience being "tricked".
