They will try to use this type of tech, virtual reality, etc. to attain 'immortality'.
But it is futile... death is inevitable and cannot be avoided. That is a fact that should be embraced, not loathed and avoided in ignorance.
There are a great number of phenomenon that can (and inevitably would) cause death even if people took on robot bodies. EMPs, natural disaster, etc. etc. Ahahaha...
Imagine that.
An asteroid comes and destroys the planet, and there's your trapped robot body, unable to die and holding your consciousness hostage. Maybe you'll get lucky and the robo-body will melt or something. God help you if you can 'feel' with the robot body... then the molten heat won't kill you and you'll just be trapped consciousness in an impervious vessel, able to feel the pain that would typically end in a swift death for the human body.
This is only one of multitudes of nightmarish scenarios that can take place with this stupid robot/consciousness fusion.
HUMAN LIFE, in a HUMAN BODY, here on EARTH is the ULTIMATE VIRTUAL REALITY.
DEATH is a BUILT IN SAFEGUARD.
It's there for your protection buddy...
I am telling you guys. REJECT this virtual reality crap, REJECT the robot takeover.
Sure, have your little robot vacuum cleaner than keeps the house tidy.
Have your freaking sex robot if you want...
But when the day comes that they give you the option to merge your consciousness with a robot?
You better say no.
The danger isn't in downloadable brains.
The danger isn't in having a robot buddy.
The danger is giving your consciousness over to a TRAP you can't get out of.
THAT is HELL.
