As far as being a target though, nah.
He hasn't done anything yet that makes him a target.
And if he never claims sides and proves himself, then he won't.
If he was smart, he'd do whatever he believed in boldly, so at least if he does become a 'target', the whole world will know exactly why and that will safeguard him.
