OMG I'm so hard into the original Rider-Waite tarot right now.
I used to dislike the traditional tarot because I didn't appreciate the symbolism and all that stuff.
I just thought it was kind of a lot and I didn't really get the point, it didn't really speak to me.
But now it TOTALLY DOES. It's like a whole different level has opened up.
I have a couple different decks I'm playing with right now...
One of them is a Rider-Waite ripoff with more fresh looking artwork, very opaque and vibrantly colored.
And the other one is just the original Rider-Waite, but I'm starting to see a bunch of meaning in the way the art looks on these cards.
I'm trying to bend and warp the decks that I like the most because I really dig that worn in aesthetic.
The original Rider-Waite cardstock is super bendy and I can tell it's gonna be so much easier to wear out than the ripoff deck is, because the ripoff deck is made out of a plastic kinda material rather than just regular cardstock...
Which means it's totally excellent quality, but it doesn't get all worn out super easy.
I'm just obsessed with shuffling the cards and fucking around with them, it's almost therapeutic somehow.
I spill drinks and all kinds of other stuff on these two decks because I don't give a shit, I want them to have some character...
That kinda stuff makes them look like they've been through some shit, gnomesayin'?
Ah man this is great...
Reading traditional tarot is totally different than the other kinds of cards. I totally get it now.
