Any site with such a vastly different mode of operations can’t be considered a YouTube replacement.
Take Vid.Me for example...
Aside from censoring the politics category from trending (idiots) and hosting super gay contests, they did everything right.
They had a payments system, notifications worked great, I don’t remember the specifics of their comments operation, but I seem to remember it was good enough.
You’re never going to be a YouTube replacement if you go too far out of the mold as far as what people are used to/expect from a video sharing platform. DT’s rip off of the red/black YouTube colors is about where the similarities end.
