it did provide some interesting ideas, like the user base voting and assigning revenue. obviously it could be exploited somehow like everything, but it could be a better system than jewtube.
i've been thinking about a lot of the types of videos/channels that have been getting censored. a lot of the political / historical type stuff doesn't really need a lot of video bandwidth... it's a lot of images and mostly commentary. an optimized audio stream synch'd with still image slides would provide them with almost all of what they need to do. would dramatically reduce bandwidth cost for the host. the images could be stored in imgur [or similar] and the audio the same, the host would just be collating the offsite content for the user.
i've also seen what appear to be internationally hosted video sites, mostly catering to porn, that don't seem to remove any content. there's all sorts of movies and tv shows on some of them. i've seen conspiracy type videos on some of them.
the tide is definitely turning against youtube so something will pop up soon.
