You can see the 'pixels' of the matrix & the 'refresh rate' really well in the dark

i used to get a lot of strange looks as a child when i would say i cannot see black or darkness, that it's an undulating pattern of colors and geometry.

`you can't see anything in the dark!` is what they'd tell me. fuckin hell i can't. it's almost like an acid/shroom trip, though i don't even get strong visuals off those. or at least i don't perceive them as strong compared to baseline.
