It's not attractive to people to have to start their own site and be alone while it builds...
It's not attractive to people to be somewhere there isn't already a crowd...
And the internet ghettos give them the illusion of other people being around, when really, they still get basically no interaction.
People don't want to do the work themselves and start from the ground up, it's all too hard.
You gotta have the hunger and the drive...
