I'll bet. It's hard to stuff a robust program of that complexity into 64 kilobytes. Probably a ton of effort involved in coding all of that in machine language too.
I'm using a small Linux computer as a WiFi modem. It'll have a telnet/dialup BBS onboard eventually. I plan to use a USB hub to connect the local serial terminal (one of several 8-bit computers) and a 1TB hard drive to it. Plenty of space to check filesystem boundaries and other stuff.
