I had a friend in real life who was pretty much the spitting image of Gary, from a personality aspect. Artistic type, misanthropic, intolerant of people's opinions etc. etc., but yet I was able to break through his barriers and befriend him. On the surface I come across as a dweebie (is that even used anymore) to many people, but I can appeal to the Inmendhams of the world, where others fail. I have even done a few acts of random kindness so to speak toward gary, but I always do it on his terms. I think he can sense the respect I have for his wish for real life privacy, even though he is an "internet star".
