antarctica enigma

You are past the prime time for an Antarctica visit. January is the time to go. If you actually want to go to the South Pole, and walk around, there are tour groups that get you there, provide you with a cold weather/oxygen suit, and you get to stay a night a two in a shelter adjacent to where the scientists down there stay. All for the low low price of 14,000 dollars. You can do a more conventional visit to the Antarctic Peninsula, watch the penguins etc. for a bout 1/2 that. Involves a flight to Buenos Aires , and a ship down to the peninsula. I've looked into both. I may go to Greenland first though. :)
