this is just a portion of the list of father figures in american media that are portrayed as bumbling oafs that are not respected and can barely hold their families together.
positive father figures i can remember... michael landon [reruns stopped in 90s i think,] bill cosby [lol,] uncle phil... i really can't think of many. can you? maybe our media has been different, you're not american.
i watched some of the shit my sister's kids watch... there are no parents. it's always a bunch of kids left on their own with the occasional bumbling oaf adult entering briefly then exiting. the media provides a cohesive context and narrative across many shows on many channels and it is not through happenstance.
