If you ever kill a creature with your vehicle etc., it's because you're supposed to learn to integrate the traits of that creature into yourself.
Therefore if you had hit the black cat, it would have meant in a sense you need to become the black cat for a time in order to balance yourself.
It was a near miss, so things aren't that dire yet... but I would suggest really accepting all the facets of your being including the mysterious. Embrace the unknown. Balance your dualistic nature.
