yes there was, don't remember which offhand either. [it was san bernardino.] they only overtly wear hats, rings, or necklaces outside the shirt [who does this to begin with] when it's a message to mock those in the know. it's much more common to see one of these pins:

they don't advertise to each other, they have specific handshakes to check and seemingly benign comments. for a while i started to get a bunch of guys shaking my hand, which is odd to begin with, but it was weird types of shakes. looked some stuff up and whaddya know, masons. a few of them had what i thought were golfing pins, but it was tubal cain stuff. some of them get reallllly huffy if you know stuff you're not supposed to and start mocking them with specific grips and cryptic statements.
come to think of it, that was going on when i was much more active and vocal in the old voice chats and certain forums and imageboards. i could probably put together a fairly compelling case for having been actively followed and surveilled. i live on a cut-through street, and half of the street isn't the cut through part. there were hundreds of instances where i'd be going out and would see in the rear view mirror a car's headlights turn on and start to follow me from the other part of my street. i've been meaning to stop at the curb when i notice this, and give them a good ole aphex twin grin as they pass by.
the baseball diamond is itself the masonic compass and square, btw. so, in a way, all baseball caps are masonic.
