I've noticed that a lot of my artistic discoveries were made during times of intense sadness, or other similar types of emotion. It seems to be those times (often paired with inspiration from amazing people who create art) which lead me into a new level of my own artistic journey.
The paintings I create are all my own methods... I didn't see it anywhere or take inspiration from anyone else about it. One thing led to another and I just developed my process and method naturally.
The clothing art however was deeply inspired by an adored artist who woke me up to another whole new universe of possibilities. I had always loved to sew but when I saw some of this artist's creations, I definitely reached a new understanding and a new way of seeing and thinking, again.
It's just that there are no rules... expression is more important than any 'rules' and fabricated ideas of what's acceptable and what's not acceptable. Bear in mind I am particularly referencing clothing with this statement and the various alterations you can do to the clothing, various decoration, etc.
