Catholics are the Roman System, Pope is the Emperor.
When Rome was declining as they saw Jesus was taking off, they changed to make people worship the Emperor again.
So now instead of worshipping Jesus they worship a God head the Pope.
Its the same in the Anglican system, like the Queen of England or King which ever one is around is supposed to be the God Head.
