There were fireworks going on, they were pretty close to the horizon (really far away).
We all know what fireworks look like.
I saw something pretty much directly overhead, the brightness of Venus. I think it's Venus, you can see it as soon as the sun goes down... https://www.space.com/41074-fourth-of-ju...ching.html
But this thing was super bright, right overhead, WAY up... way higher than fireworks could have been. It just appeared, probably for about 5 seconds, and disappeared in the same spot. Absolutely nothing there, before or after. The sky was totally clear, no clouds whatsoever. It couldn't have disappeared behind anything.
