Seriously, why have kids if you don't want them around?
I definitely think she looks Asian/Pacific Islander more than Hispanic.
And usually these cultures have more multi-generational households, it's very, very common. I lived in Hawaii for a long time and that is the thing to do there. You simply don't kick your kids out and everyone contributes to the living expenses, even if they get married and have kids of their own they often still live with the parents.
So it is a mystery why, but it could be that she was adopted? Or maybe her parents are deceased? Or in jail? Or addicts? Or super strict?
There are so many possibilities.
