Maybe the Cancer dude couldn't get out of his shell? They have that shell to protect their sensitive emotions and feelings.
Most Cancer men I know seem to hide their true feelings out of self-protection.
He might have seen your Aries ways and thought you'd rip his heart into pieces, so he said no ball.
Cancer guys seem like they love their mama, love their country, love tradition and just want the kids and the picket fence kind of life. Sounds perfect actually.
