And everyone knows this ban was POLITICAL CENSORSHIP.
It had nothing to do with hate speech or whatever other "violation of rules" nonsense these tech companies use to try to justify it.
Everyone is turning a blind eye to that very obvious fact.
The tech companies know if they ADMIT this truth they will lose 50% of their business overnight (which may happen regardless).
Also, I am really damn tired of hearing the whole house metaphor.
NO, you don't own a private house on the Internet, you are a BUSINESS that services CUSTOMERS, in this case a MULTINATIONAL CORPORATION.
Is it ethical, or even legal, for a BUSINESS to discriminate against people because of their POLITICS? That is the question.
Apparently it IS legal to discriminate based on political reasons or affiliations, but at least be the fuck honest about the reasons you are doing it so people can choose to take their business elsewhere.
