I think Alex grasps the concept of cycles...
He understand what's going on here.
I promise there's a large part of him that is excited.
He knows that history repeats itself...
Each cycle, we grow.
He's going back to roots, but he's a lot bigger than he started out.
That's the dichotomy of evolution within sameness (the same cycles, patterns recurring infinitely).
