Hammers? 
Here you can't carry weapons in cars without a reason aka a hammer in a tool bag/belt, a machette in a backpack for camping.
So I just carry a 2 foot socket extension bar with some tools keep them behind my seats in the sleeves on the back of the seats sor easy access and the cops can do nothing.
