I feel like there is truth in the statement that things of the mind rise up out of the heart, or the seat of emotions, which I think could be loosely defined as one’s “will”.
So if you notice that you are thinking dirty thoughts, those thoughts are likely rising up out of some part of your will. I’m not sure random thoughts can enter one’s mind. They have to come from somewhere. They have to have an origin.
Sometimes I have bIzzare unpleasant thoughts. Like thoughts of wanting to do things that I don’t want to do in real life. Like if I walk close to a ledge of something, I get freaked out because I start thinking of jumping, which I know for sure that I don’t want to do. I’ve read about such self-destructive intrusive thoughts and some research suggests that this is actually a protective measure in our minds that scares us with the reality of doing something foolish or dangerous, so our minds are awakened to the danger at hand. I’m not sure how that would play out in a sex situation though, unless you are deeply afraid of whatever you are imagining.
