Styx calls Tumblr's layout system "archaic" and I couldn't agree with him any less...
I don't often disagree with Styx, but it does happen.
All these cookie cutter sites that offer all the "new style" site layouts, like the Wordpress themes and all that kinda stuff...
They're TOTALLY FUCKING BORING.
I'll take a tacky, heinously neon colored layout ANY DAY over some cookie cutter, boring, drab, sad as fuck Wordpress layout.
It's almost exactly like the MySpace/Facebook fiasco...
MySpace with its creative wonderland of HTML and CSS layouts only limited by the imagination vs. Facebook's unbelievably boring, stifling, sad and lame singular layout for every fucking page.
Gross... just fucking gross.
I HATE that boring shit.
There's only one kind of website that should have a PLAIN look with BLAND COLORS, and that's a MESSAGE BOARD website. Because THE WORDS are the FOCUS...
That's why my fucking site is black and white. Because it's about WORDS, it's not about pictures.
But in almost ANY OTHER creative endeavor... some bland, sorry, ugly PLAIN fucking layout SHOULD NOT be the only thing to choose from.
