These companies are all based in the San Francisco area. Practically everyone they encounter in real life is a leftist. It's all perfectly normal to them. They can't conceive of the 94% of the population who live outside of liberal strongholds like San Francisco not being leftists. Therefore it doesn't seem like just a little pressure to them. They think the few people bringing on the pressure speak for a much larger number of people than they really do.
We need more tech companies based in normal parts of the country so these nerds will be exposed to a broader range of views and get a more realistic sense of how the nation thinks overall. Hopefully California's anti-business politicians will help make that happen.
