Well, I'm inclined to think it was just for Cunty to personally get paid for his own music or whatever, and he really didn't think through the implications of becoming a CEO and having to be responsible for a company. Artists are generally not well suited to that kind of role. In fact, they're at the opposite end of the personality spectrum from business managers. After the initial inspiration has fizzled out, mundane chores become tedious and dull to them.
