I suppose I could deal with running a three-tier forum where the anons and regs have separate forums (fora?), plus an elitist "inner circle" for the paying (or at least trusted) members.
I'd still have to come down there and smack the anons around when they got unruly though. I just don't like being a moderator. I'd rather have conversations and let someone else handle the behind the scenes work.

Why a forum instead of a blog? Although the only technical difference would be the blog owner is the OP of every thread.
I used to write textfiles and uploading them to BBSes. I can't really get into the spirit of it without my MS-DOS machine and WordStar. Using period correct gear makes a difference.
Plus I'd need all of my hobby stuff because that was what I wrote about. Now all I do is watch YouTube. The other BBSers aren't watching YouTube on their Apple IIs and Commodore 64s, so they wouldn't be a particularly receptive audience. A lot of the threads here are about YouTubers, so here I am.
