I learned about Elliot's case a couple of years ago and since then I have gotten thoroughly immersed in it. I am female, but there are so many similarities between us that it feels almost scary. However, the main difference between us is that I am very capable of feeling empathy, which is something that Elliot never really manifested. My sense of empathy also is the main reason why I keep following up on this topic. Elliot's story got stuck somewhere in my heart, and in a way I want it that way.
I wish that someone, anyone, would have taken his or her time with this sensitive being called Elliot. I wish that someone would have made a pact with Elliot that together they would have tried hobbies and activities that could have taken his mind off things. I think this because as I look back on his life as he himself portrayed it in his manifesto, everything revolved around just one thing. He didn't really have any interests or passions outside of the gruelling, always-present obsession with girls. The only thing close to a hobby that he had was spending time in a library reading about ideologies that eventually may have done their part in warping his mind...
The problem with Elliot, as I hear from some of the interviews done with his peers, was that maintaining a conversation with him was hard work. Several people have said that talking with him consisted of rambling on for minutes for just to receive a one-word answer or a hum from him.
Another thing that I want to comment on is the issue with the blood in Elliot's BMW. One of the people who had found Elliot's car on the junkyard commented that the car had been marked as a biohazard because of bodily fluids and remnants of tissue in it. This person commented that there was a large stain of blood at least in the centre console between the front seats. To me it is apparent that Elliot must have slumped sideways after taking his own life, therefore depending on his position it is possible that the blood may not have been transferred to the air bag. However, since there was also an exit wound to the left side of Elliot's head it is clear that there must have been evidence on the car door as well. Unless he had his window open and the bullet went out the window.
