I sense post-trauma numbness.
He's woken up as someone else since his "Forrest Gump Run" ended.
If he snuck alcohol, Priss would smell it and she'd beat his ass worse than it's ever been beat before.
Honestly, he probably never had anyone kick his ass before Priss came along.
All that time walking through the western US, traipsing around in Mexico, and no one ever beat his ass...
