This is great because it's their way of interacting with the online audience... and this was way back in 2009.
Seems like they made this episode entirely about the people who write all the fan fiction etc.
Not that it's SOLELY about that, but... I think it must have been largely inspired by it.
There's also another underlying story and point here... it's actually pretty deep.
