This is what humans are supposed to do...

Protect the animals, save the animals, care for the animals in general.

Good on you for being an effective human and doing what God put us here to do, Genba.

I have had a few of these instances that were very profound. I made eye contact with a small lizard crawling up a brick wall once... it quickly became telepathic. Not that there were specific thoughts communicated, but it was more like a vibe of recognition and I came away with a 'friends forever' kind of imprint from the experience.

I think we can develop an 'affinity' with animals from these experiences. A mutual affinity.

I communicated with a spider in much the same way years later. I've been in the habit of trying to save spiders instead of just killing them. I don't always succeed at this... and there have been times that I killed spiders (without even really thinking about it, it was just my first response) and then felt really bad about it. To be fair, most of these spiders look like recluses, sooo. It's not like they aren't dangerous. There's just a lot of them in this part of the world. I HAVE been known to save them though...

But this particular one was crawling across the kitchen floor. I got a large cup and put it on the floor to crawl into... it was trying to avoid the obstacle, initially. But after a little bit, I had sent a very firm thought to the spider... "you get in the cup or you die" and it stopped in its tracks, seemed to really get the message, and then it just crawled into the cup and I put it outside.
