He was the main elderly actor dude who I always could have SWORN died a long time ago, but every time I'd look it up he was still alive.
Ernest Borgnine died for real in 2012 though.

Yeah, LOTS of people it could have been named after. But it turned out to be Nelson Mandela because the Denver Airport murals solidified his place as the mascot for timeline inconsistencies.
