I know theremins really can be out of tune, and really do need tuning sometimes.
And what I'm saying will probably come back to bite me but...
I just can't help it, I feel like, out of ALL instruments, the theremin is the least problematic when it comes to being out of tune.

An out of tune theremin?? What does that even mean??
I dunno. And I'm kind of intrigued by the idea of playing instruments 'out of tune'...
No matter how out of tune an instrument is, I feel like there should be somebody out there who is able to still make it sound good SOMEHOW.
Like yeah you may not be playing all the typical songs that everybody expects people to pick up a guitar (for example) and play, but you could probably make something interesting, unique, maybe even totally bizarre using an out of tune instrument.
Isn't there some value in that? I feel like there is.
I think one of the worst out of tune instruments is the piano though...
I feel like an out of tune piano is almost impossible to work with.
Because the piano is all about a certain elegance, and elegance sounds a certain way...
Bottom line. There's just no changing that, and while I do think that it's certainly possible to make something new and strange from an out of tune piano, I think it's the most unfortunate instrument when it's out of tune.
