So, you see the writing on the wall... do you keep it to yourself, or tell the world?

I can see the writing on the wall in about a thousand different ways...

And I usually choose to tell "the world", i.e. anyone who may come across this diary site.

But is that really the right approach?? Is that the approach most people take??

Do most people share what they can see is GOING TO HAPPEN, or do they keep it to themselves?

I can think of some selfish people as examples who I KNOW have kept things to themselves that could have helped others.

So is it a case of good vs. bad? Do shitty people just keep things to themselves and not tell anybody when it could have been good to tell people? Vice versa, do good people always function effectively when they get information and share it out with others?

And is it right to spew spoilers all over the place and call everything out before it even happens??

Are there situations where it's better to just keep it to yourself and let the chips fall where they may re: how other people are going to deal with what is coming?

I just can't keep the shit to myself... whether it's something important or it's something stupid, I have to say so when I see the writing on the wall. When I see where situations are headed, when I can tell what is going to happen... I just don't think it's right to withhold that from the world.

Of course. Members of Congress routinely  buy and sell stocks based on information before releasing the information to the public. The list of culprits reads like a "who's who" of both parties.

Most recently, Senators Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler dumped millions of dollars worth of stock based on privileged  about the coronavirus, all the while reassuring the public there would be no financial crisis.

An act was passed in 2012 in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis to curb insider trading by members of Congress, but the act was subsequently gutted. Now Democrat AOC and Republican Matt Gaetz are sponsoring a new bill.
