Putin sees many similarities between the current state of the world and the pre-WWII state of the world, and is sounding the alarm.
There's apparently a revisionist fib circulating amongst Western historians that Russia (or the USSR, rather) shares equal responsibility with Hitler for starting WWII. Putin recently wrote an essay, citing numerous historical documents, to set the record straight.

I should have added more to my post...
Yes the size of Africa... but more the fact that it is a very mineral rich country....
This is a country that will see superpowers trying to get ownership of it...making it the next area that major conflict between super powers will probably happen...

Western countries have been exploiting Africa's mineral wealth for a long time. The IDF gives them loans to build infrastructure that mainly benefits the foreign companies, then expects the countries to pay it back.
China is getting in on the action in a major way now. It's anybody's guess if their involvement will benefit Africa more than ours has.
