Here are some pairs of 80s movies that I like to watch back-to-back due to their similar themes.
Brainstorm (1983)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085271/
Dreamscape (1984)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087175/
These are both sci-fi thrillers about virtual reality technology. In Brainstorm, a machine is developed that records people's personal experiences and lets another person play them back. In Dreamscape, a machine is developed that allows a person to enter another person's dreams. Naturally, someone wants to use the technology for nefarious purposes in both films.
If you're on an all-night movie binge and want a cool triple feature, you should watch Looker before watching those two:
Looker (1981)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082677/
This movie foreshadows the kind of video fakery the media is using today. Fashion models are scanned into a machine so a company can produce TV commercials or whatever without the actual live model, who subsequently turns up dead.
Here's another good one:
Witches of Eastwick (1987)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094332/
The Craft (1996)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115963/
Both films are about modern witches. In Witches of Eastwick, three 30-something single women are seduced by the devil to bear him sons. In The Craft, four high school girls develop their psychic talents, with disastrous results.
