Cynthia, what does "jeet" mean in Southernese?

I already know, just seeing if you do.

You goys are gay.

In the Dirty South, when you travel to visit kinfolk and arrive around suppertime, they always ask, "jeet?"

Meaning "did you eat?" or "have you eaten?"

I feel compelled to scold Cynthia for her driveby-posting ways.

Comrade, you've done nothing to nurture the thread along.

You didn't even take the hook offered and use it to your advantage.

You just plopped your linky-link in here like Kelly Clarkson and poofed.

I'm afraid your participation level is unacceptable, comrade. Next time, I'll be obligated to report it to the Superintendent of Poster Engagement.
