Lady Borden Praline Pecan Ice Cream. I like the retro serving suggestions.

3:36 Nova Scotia, lmao. This guy is one of a kind. The hat though... I dunno, it's not a choice I can get behind, but I respect his hustle.

Chef Boy Ar Dee Meatballs with Gravy. I have a feeling that getting people to stop cooking was a ploy to make canned food seem better.

I wonder where these vintage photos come from... they always have a very vintage looking color scale that leans toward gray. Maybe the magazines they come from are old and the colors are different for that reason. But somehow I feel like that's how they always looked. Very strange.

You always put a warm hue to food photos, never cool and certainly never anything that results in grayish color. I have almost never seen a vintage photo showing these canned foods looking appetizing. And advertising has been psychology driven from the beginning, there's no way they don't KNOW these principles. So did they make it look nasty on purpose??
But now that I think about it, even some of the ads showing a Thanksgiving meal for example... they still have weird hues that make the food just not look good at all.

I wonder if the way we see color has changed over the relatively small amount of time that has gone by since these ads were made. It's absolutely possible IMO...

Maybe they didn't use a lot of preservatives in the processed food back then.
Processed meat without any preservatives turns grey, just like how hamburgers turn grey when they are cooked. Seeing greyish ground beef back then might have been the norm. Also, everyday people weren't used to seeing high definition photos and videos until recently.
