Your Daily Dagwood

We have a nice one lined up for you today, kids. Are you ready for this?

What you'll need:

Bread. I used a French steak roll from the Walmart deli. I find their French bread a little chewy for these monster sandwiches, so maybe I'll try Italian bread next time.

Your favorite sandwich meat. The Great Value rotisserie flavored chicken is my hands down favorite.

Bacon. Because of course.

Sharp cheddar cheese. I feel this is self-explanatory.

Chunky guacamole.

Your favorite salad greens.

Slice the roll and open it flat. Pile on some sandwich meat. Cut a few slices of bacon in half and fry them. Put the bacon on top of the sandwich meat. Slice enough cheese off the brick to cover the bacon. Microwave until the cheese melts. Spread some guacamole on top, and finish off with some greens.

Well fuck me...

This is the first time in my life that I have heard of the Dagwood sammich.

And asteroid DZ2 is about to hit the planet in less than 5 minutes.

You'd better scarf that Dagwood fast then.

I was thinking that French bread might get nice and crispy if you toast it first. I'll try that next time.

Friends, you'll want to babysit your bacon if you don't want to overcook it. It takes forever for it to start getting done, but then it goes from semi-raw to extra crispy in seconds.

Same thing when you're melting the cheese. This is mainly a problem with process cheese and other cheese substitutes. Not so much with good cheese. Depending on what you use, it may liquify and run all over the place if you heat it too long.
