I'm pretty sure I can't guess on the depth of the meaning as to why you got emotional listening to this oldie, but great song. I was in my later teens or around 20-ish when it was popular. I just had my firstborn child and was working at a laundry service. I can remember sitting in the field outside the building with all the co-workers I hung with and we were listening to it via a car radio. I have nothing deeper to reveal than this.....it sure would be nice to have a Pina Colada about right now.

I think at the time it was popular to make fun of 'fruities' doing yoga.

He and his woman clearly like their drink.

Whereas yogis would do acrobatics and drink smoothies and then get all freaky on the beach...

He and his woman would just load up on drinks at a beachside bar and then stumble onto the sand and start getting it in.
