I consider them fads and not up to par with the longstanding and trusted TDLs.
I don’t like that some of the more funky extensions can’t be used with private registration... http://www.networksolutions.com/support/...xtensions/ I registered a .me once not realizing that private registration was unavailable for it... I’ve never been so glad to have a domain expire.

I don't think the people who register vanity names are too concerned about privacy, but thanks for the heads up.
I'm gonna do a DDNS for my BBS, but my router only supports DynDNS, which is no longer free. So now I'm gonna have to install a DDNS updater on the BBS computer.
