the real elites are people whose names we do not know. they have reincarnation techniques that allow them to maintain continuity of memory. they have all sorts of crazy tech underground with them including full on cloning / genetic synthesizers to mix and match what they want. you'd be surprised how many people go missing in national parks each year.
