I wrote a forum script once that had no avatars, no emoticons, and no inline images. The posts were displayed in a monospace font. The entire program fit into a single PHP file. lol

I like avatars and emoticons.

I've thought about ditching the avatars though.

Can't seem to get off the shitpot on that one though.

Avatars were always a super important part of a forum to me.

So I think I'll keep 'em but... mehhh. I care about them less and less.

I kind of miss the original text emoticons. It was amusing to see all of the new expressions people would come up with using ASCII characters.
